General Facts Concerning Politics In Portugal

By Paul Stubbs

Portuguese politics managed at several different levels. The constitution and the laws made the first level. This formal framework of government often seemed rigid, legalistic, and dense, especially towards outsiders. Yet, these types of legal and constitutional structures were much more obvious and more easily understood compared to some other levels of the Portuguese system of government.

The second level consisted of political parties and interest groups. Because of the legalistic tradition, a strict parting existed within Portugal in between of the formal governmental system and the world associated with political parties and interest groups. Portuguese tended to adhere to their formal system of government but to degrade political parties and interest groups. As Portuguese democracy prospered from the 1980s, nevertheless, political parties and interest groups obtained higher acceptance as a fundamental element of the program of government.

Unlike these first couple of levels, the third level of Portuguese politics was largely unseen and ended up being one of the most tough to outsiders to penetrate and understand. This particular level consisted of the actual informal contacts, family relationships, interpersonal ties, kinships, and patronage networks which were so much the center of the Portuguese political system. Rarely been vocal of or described by the Portuguese, did these interactions allow the Portuguese system to function and to reduce through vast levels of red tape.

Most of the informal networks that had prolonged steered Portuguese affairs were seriously interrupted through the Revolution of 1974 when many displaced their property and their positions. On the other hand, several networks were regained within succeeding years, and others were formed through the making new of completely new political and economic affairs. Knowledge of this particular third level of Portuguese politics had been essential for the full knowledge of the formal and also the informal dynamics within the Portuguese political system.

Since the formation of the democratic republic and its constitution in 1976, four main political parties emerged; the CDS (Centro Democratica Social), PPD/PSD (Partido Popular Democratico/Partido Social Democratica), PS (Partido Socialista) and PCP (Partida Comunista Portuges). The PS and the PSD dominate the regional and national governments and also have similar base politics, both with focus on market economic system and pro- Europe. The particular President is chosen for five years, is commander in chief of the armed forces, and can serve a couple of consecutive terms. Other main parts of the government would be the Council of Ministers (the government), the Assembly of the Republic (the parliament) and the judiciary. The parliament comprises 230 members whom serve terms of 4 years and are elected using a form of proportional manifestation. The two independent areas of the Azores and Madeira also have their own legislative power and governments ever since 1976, and distribute legislative proposals to the Portuguese Parliament (Assembleia da Republica).

The Significance Of The Court Reporter Role

By A Noton

TV shows and movies do not accurately depict court reporters do much more than type court proceeding transcript. Not just relegated to court, they also help make accurate transcripts of conversations, speeches, legal proceedings, and other times when it is important to record verbal exchanges on paper. Often these are used for a record and sometimes as legal proof. They are an extremely important piece in legal proceedings. They ensure complete and accurate documentation. Sometimes they assist the judges and the attorneys by not only organizing the records, also searching through them for the information they need. Well versed in courtroom procedure and in administration, they sometimes even have suggestions for the judge and the attorneys. It has been increasingly common that they help provide services, like translation or closed captioning, for those who are hearing impaired so that they can know what is going on in the courtroom. The court reporter role has expanded from the person making written accounts of court proceedings, to doing so many other things.

Court reporting isn't just cut and dry. There are a few different ways it is done. The most often seen and associated with court reporting is the way where they use stenography. All statements would be recorded by a stenographer.

A similar yet different approach is the Communications Access Realtime Translation (CART). In this type stenotype machines are connected to a computer. This helps the hearing impaired because what the stenographer types is seen on a screen. No matter their role in the court room they will know everything that is being said.

While there a various ways of record keeping, different areas need court reporters besides court. When there a hearings and the public attends, they are often in use. They help in documenting the thoughts and opinions that the people have about specific decisions and possibly legislation affect.

Conventions sometimes need records of verbal statements. The people that could not attend can read a record of the happenings. This could be any type of convention including business meetings, seminars, or even award ceremonies.

Insurance companies sometimes want investigation done into a person who filed a claim. An investigator is sent to question them. Stenographers are used to generate an accurate transcript of all of the questions and all of the answers given. This simple record can lead to a claim being either approved or denied.

It is not uncommon for corporations to have transcripts of every meeting professionally done. Corporations can be either banks, or sometimes condo associations. Most corporations that need this type of service go through stenographer companies.

Court reporters are somewhat a jack of all trades. They don't just stenograph and create accurate, easy to read transcripts for court cases, but they also organize them such that if some information is needed, they are expected to retrieve it. They are used for recording speeches, meetings, and anything else where word for word accounts being recorded are critical. It is often that their transcripts are needed in the appeals process. In addition, they set up assistance for those hard of hearing or otherwise handicapped. Needless to say, the court reporter role is much more important and involved than most people think.

Information About An Attorney Delaware Ohio

By Lidia Newman

If you are involved in a legal struggle, whether it is civil or criminal, you are going to need an attorney Delaware Ohio. An attorney can help to ensure that you do not give up some very important legal rights. Without his advice, you may say or sign something that could be detrimental to your future.

In criminal cases, a valid arrest must include giving the Miranda warning. This warning reminds you that anything that comes out of your mouth may be used against you in court. When you are given this warning, the most important thing you can do is to stop talking. Since you have a right to an attorney, you need to ask for one.

With civil cases, signing papers may be signing away some very important rights. For example, if you are in an auto accident and the insurance company agrees to pay for your past medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering, you may be tempted to agree to the settlement. However, who will be responsible if complications of the injury require you miss more work or have to have surgery. If you have signed away your rights for future claims, you are the responsible party.

Your attorney should read most if not all contracts before you sign them. The attorney can spot any potential problems with the contract and make recommendations for change. Clauses that are included in the contract could cost you a lot of time, effort or money in the future.

In preparation for your eventual demise from this world, an attorney can help with writing a will that will stand up in court. Having an attorney oversee the writing of the will helps to ensure that your final wishes are carried out as you want. If you leave no will or a will that is proved invalid, then your estate is divided by the laws of the state and your wishes are not carried out. Once you die, the executor of your will may also need the services of an attorney.

In many countries, attorneys are required to have an education that is beyond a four year college degree. After successfully completing that degree, the candidate must also sit for a test called the Bar exam. Attorneys that are involved in unethical or illegal activities can lose their right to practice law. The lawyer is said to be disbarred.

The attorney Delaware Ohio serves to make sure that your legal rights are enforced. His work is to make sure you get what is legally yours.

IRS Vows To Make The Wealthiest Of The Wealthy Pay Their Dues

By Mallory Megan

If you are obscenely rich, hold on to your hat: the Internal Revenue Service is out to get you. That is, if you've been scamming Uncle Sam. Last tax season it was made apparent that the IRS was leaner, meaner, and that it was on the lookout for tax evaders. This past fall, the IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman announced something called a "Global High Wealth Exam Group." The main task of this group is to make sure that the richest people in America are paying what they owe in taxes.

If you have a nice house in a nice neighborhood, you need not worry. When they say "global wealth" they MEAN global wealth. Like, so rich that you wouldn't even be reading this yourself, you would be paying a servant to read it for you. Americans with incomes in the tens of millions of dollars. According to the most current IRS data available, in the year of 2004 there were around 47,000 individual taxpayers with a net worth of $20,000,000 or more.

Last year the press flooded us with stories about the richest people in the country stashing assets in offshore accounts to prevent their massive stacks of cash from being proportionately, and legally, taxed. In fact, by last November, almost 15,000 individuals had "voluntarily" reported their illegal activity to the IRS. That just goes to show you that if you make enough money, you can buy the prerogative to avoid going to jail for breaking the law by being forced to volunteer financial information.

This selfish, disturbing behavior of some of the wealthiest people in the country is not the sole reason for this new program. When someone reaches a certain level of wealth, things get more complicated with trust arrangements, private equity and hedge funds, private foundations, and multi-tiered partnerships. Additionally, the world has gotten smaller, and many of these entities are foreign based which complicates things for the IRS further. It makes sense that it would take a team of experts to tease all of these issues out.

Hence, the "wealth squads" came out in part this tax season, manned with entire teams of IRS agents, partnership experts and international examiners. Specialists in the areas of retirement plans, insurance and annuity arrangements, exempt organizations, and financial instruments will be introduced to go through the Forms 1040 AND any and all related returns. The Internal Revenue Service informs us that a criminal investigation agent might potentially be asked to join the task force.

So what are these poor, defenseless multi-millionaires to do? Well, if they have been honest in the past and paid the fair amount of money that they owed to the country, they have no need to worry. For the rest, it may have seemed like a good idea to walk on the wild side of audits a few years ago, but now it doesn't seem like such a smart decision.

What Are Top Three Uses Of Unconventional Gas

By Santee Jordan

In essence, unconventional gas and traditional gasoline may be the same. It's used in the same ways. So what is the distinction? Well, the main difference within the two are within the way they're collected in the earth.

Unconventional gas is only deemed unconventional due to the areas in which it's found. Numerous times, it is from areas which up until recently were too expensive to mine from. In numerous cases as well, what's now 'conventional' gas, was at one time defined as 'unconventional'. This occurs because of progress being made within the discovery and exploration of gas deposits all over the world. Everyday scientists and leading businesses find newer, better, and more economical ways by which to mind various types of deposits, such as coalbed methane and shale.

Read on for the top 3 ways by which both traditional and unconventional gas are used in today's society:

1. Electrical generation - Electricity generation is now widely fueled by gas. It used to be coal and nuclear plants that powered electrical power generation. Nevertheless, this had a large impact on the environment. With price and technological advancements within the past decades, gasoline is now the premier option.

2. Industrial - Many industries depend on gas. Right here are a few: steel manufacturing, cement, fertilizers, and processing forest products.

3. Domestic uses - Without having unconventional gas, we would be in the dark, cold, and without the capability of air travel, or travel by vehicle. It is utilized for our home's heat, our vehicle's fuel, and our stoves to cook with.

It is no doubt that natural gas is very important for life as we know it to carry on. We need it and rely on it, regardless of whether it comes from traditional or unconventional gas deposits. Companies involved within the exploration oil industry are moving forward by leaps and bounds on a daily basis in order to ensure that we can carry on living with the comforts we have come to depend on.

Average Americans Struggle To Make It While Rich Billionaires Remain Optimistic

By Mallory Megan

According to the most current research by company TNS, debtors still feel quite negatively about the state of the United States economy. According to the study, their opinions about the economy haven't changed at all since September. An overwhelming majority, sixty four percent of debtors who were surveyed held a position that things had taken a turn for the worst at that moment. On the other side of the fence, unlike Americans struggling to survive in debt, business executives surveyed that pull in between three million to two billion dollars have a much more positive take on the situation.

Despite the fact that debtors felt a little more positively about the economy potentially improving in September, their attitude was even grimmer in December. The survey indicated that a larger majority of consumers, about sixty six percent, strongly felt that they will be reducing their personal spending and struggling more financially over the next six months.

Although the executives surveyed were more likely to believe that the economy will recover in the next coming months, consumers remain dubious. This may be chalked up to the fact that these obscenely rich millionaires do not have much reason to worry about anything financially related any time soon. The current economic situation has almost every typical American stuck in cost cutting mode, with the exception of these top executives who sail in yachts and enjoy caviar while sick people are struggling to pay doctor's bills. It seems as though consumers might have a more realistic take on the situation; most companies are planning to continue to aggressively search for ways to cut costs in the next year. Fifty two percent of these companies surveyed said this includes layoffs and pay cuts for the average American.

And despite the fact that executives remain footloose and fancy free, they concede that the unemployment problem in America will only get worse before it improves. After all, why cut their salaries when they can lay off the average Joe? For example, Walmart recently laid off 11,200 Sam's Clubs Employees, choosing to outsource the positions for cheaper pay instead. And even if the recent studies suggesting that the jobless rate has been shrinking are correct, there is no denying that no new jobs are being created.

Clearly, this data has its effects on the collections industry. As a writer who writes mainly on this subject, I notice more and more blogs and news articles about bill collectors growing more persistent and aggressive, and more and more bloggers complaining about collection agencies. According to them, debt collectors should be the only ones prospering in the economy. But clearly, they haven't been. It just seems like these rich executives are the only ones doing that well. The simple fact of the matter is that when consumers just don't have the money or the means to repay a delinquent account that they took out before their financial situation went downhill, things get tougher for both the debtors and the collectors.

What Does The Georgia Labor Commissioner Do?

By Lenora Underwood

In Georgia, there is a statewide officer in charge of all of the rules, regulations, and laws related to employment, labor, learning to work more effectively, and serving employees with disabilities. The Georgia Labor Commissioner is the focal point for business executives, labor leaders and workers, and companies, providing information on the various ways that people find and keep jobs. Commissioners like this in most states aim to enhance the abilities of their workforce, so that their state's workers can compete in the global economy and increase their overall contribution.

4,000 people work for the Commissioner in all of Georgia's 159 counties. While the primary headquarters of the agency are in Atlanta, there are agency offices all over the state, including 45 so-called one-stop offices that provide educational and learning opportunities for workers. There are also 53 offices to help job seekers, and 50 offices that provide specialized services for disabled employees in rehabilitative programs.

The federal government also has a labor department. The Labor Commissioner interfaces with the federal agency, particularly serving as the point of contact for the US Wage and Hour Division and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Many Georgians seek out services related to unemployment benefits. The agency coordinates the delivery of funds to those who are out of work. It also provides information on training and services to help job seekers. This service area has been very busy during the Great Recession. The current unemployment rate in the State has hovered around 10 percent.

The agency provides in depth analysis and reporting on employment statistics through its Workforce Information and Analysis unit. The unit provides outlook documents on the long- and short-term prospects for growth in various industries, information on worker training and development, and other reports to help workforce-planning professionals.

Georgia addresses a number of occupational health and safe-work projects of interest to employees and their places of business. One of their projects is a volunteer cooperative made-up of educational institutions, civic institutions, and commercial institutions - together they provide voluntary services to companies aimed at creating safer workplaces. They also have a partnership affiliated with Georgia Tech University to provide safety consultancy services; and they make available significant amounts of rules related to chemicals, bungee jumping, amusement parks, and industrial HVAC.

In Georgia, the office is elected statewide. The candidates appear on the ballot with the gubernatorial, lieutenant gubernatorial, attorney general, and secretary of state candidates. Additionally, there are additional state executives who have oversight over priority areas of statewide concern, including the Insurance Commissioner and the Agriculture Commissioner. Democrat Michael Thurmond presently serves as the Georgia Labor Commissioner. His first time winning election to the office was 1998.

Saving Money In The Sales

By Owen Jones

Everyone loves to take advantage of the lower prices during the holiday sales. In fact, the best day to go shopping for special offers is the day after the actual holiday finishes.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and it is the busiest shopping day of the year. You will get enormous savings, but you will have to get up early, be prepared to queue and jostle.

Another example is jewellery and St Valentine?s Day. Many men buy their wives or girlfriends jewellery during this period as a St Valentine?s Day present. However, in the weeks after St Valentine?s Day, you can save a minimum of 30% on the very same pieces of jewellery that were on sale a week before. This is a clear sign that we are being hood-winked on these holiday occasions and that we ought to wait until the actual holiday is over.

OK, it may not be so romantic to wait, but it must be better to be able to get 30% more gold for your money or to give the same present, but be able to go for a meal too. If I were a woman, I know which alternative I would take!

Or, instead of a nice silver or gold ring, you would be able to afford gold instead of silver or white gold instead of yellow. You could get a exquisite Celtic knot or a Claddagh ring instead of a simple band.

Striking Easter clothing is also expensive before Easter. However, why not buy the items you want after Easter and either make use of them next year or use them for parties, special occasions or church? You can save a bundle of money in this way, just by using a little forward planning.

In order to help cut down on how much money you spend on Christmas presents, why not try buying them all year long as and when you find something appropriate in the sales? How many times have you seen something in a sale and said to yourself: 'that would be the perfect gift for so-and-so'? It is better to take advantage of these chances and keep the items aside for when the right occasion comes up.

Then there are those post Christmas sales as well. The Boxing Day sales are a great opportunity to pick up items that you can give as gifts later in the year. And why not buy something for yourself too while you are at it? You can save a lot on your favourite perfumes. Buy enough to last you the rest of the year!

You can make your funds go a lot further if you take advantage of the post holiday sales. Rely on serendipity. Buy opportunistically and you will not only save yourself a lot of money, but you will never be stuck for a gift at the last minute either.

How To Improve Global Decision-Making - 5 Steps To Make The World A Better Place

By Jeorge Poitier

Do you feel frustrated that you can't make a difference in the world? Well you are not alone in that belief. This article will detail how we could change the way the world is run - in 5 steps - to make it a better, more democratic place for everyone.

Step 1: Establish A World Parliament

The United Nations Security Council is where decisions with some of the greatest impact are made, and yet it is democratically deficient. Whilst all stages of government have some sort of parliamentary body, the highest level of governance - the UN - has none. We therefore need to change this by establishing a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly (UNPA) which would provide democratic representation of the people of the world.

Step 2: Nurturing a Public Mind Shift

There is currently a public mind shift which is taking place around the world and the formation of a UNPA could be part of this. Moreover, we need to enable more people to move to this higher level of understanding, so that they can view themselves as global citizens and not just as individuals or national citizens.

Step 3: Develop a New Global Political Philosophy based upon Conflict Resolution

Once a public mind shift has taken place, we can begin to form a new global political philosophy. This will be a fresh way of thinking which has moved on from the adversarial philosophy of the past.

Step 4: Developing Global Law

We need to move on from national interests and use global law to replace the current international legal system which has proved itself to be unable to cope with the transnational problems.

Step 5: A Transformed System of Global Governance

The result of following these steps will be that we can achieve a democratic system of global governance which provides representation for the people, by the people. This will mean that we can nurture a new generation of global leaders who are democratic, representing the voice of all the people of the world.

If we were to follow these steps, the world would certainly be a better place - we would have real representation on a global level, meaning that people could participate in the decision-making process and ensure that their voice is heard.

Cargo Screening: Providing Cargo Safety

By Lola Francis

It is very important that imports and exports go through the proper cargo screening before leaving or entering any country. The most vulnerable continents that are in great need to have proper screening is probably Europe and North America.

The shipments must be checked very well to increase the peoples safety. If any cargo checked is doubtful it needs to be immediately reported to the different authority's and if done this will save lives. The great importance of screening methods should not be taken lightly.

Many different things have changed since the terrorist attacks started several years back and this means that screening is more important today than it was yesterday. The facts are that terrorist are always trying to find new and improved ways to kill people by sending bombs and other materials through different shipments.

An international law called the safe port act, which is an industry standard and has made changes to this law frequently over the years has many guidelines for screening shipments internationally. The laws have been made much more strict since the 9/11 attacks on the United States of America and the railways attacked in Europe. The hunt for Osama Bin Laden continues and terrorist recruiting by AL Qaeda is increasing, which means many countries are still in grave danger.

Even Passenger based companies must look at items before they can let them on board whether it is air or sea. This screening is something that will not decrease in the future and will probably increase more. People can only bring certain items on board planes and must use a checklist to decrease the chances of an attack.

There are many different techniques for finding dangerous or illegal items and the x-ray machine is quickly becoming a standard. An x-ray machine is able to look through an item to see what is inside the packages before they are loaded on board and this is a widely trusted methods used today. The dog is the oldest available screening method today and these highly trained dogs can sniff out just about anything dangerous with the nose. Last but not least is the highly trained security personal that can visually look to find anything strange or out of place.

The cargo screening is increasing for many safety reasons and will hopefully continue to keep people safe all around the world. The dangers that are found in shipments can mean the difference between life and death.

Storing Survival Food For Emergencies And Disasters Is The Way To Go

By Sienna Langspot

If you are like many people, you do not think of survival food for emergencies and disasters. But with a little planning today, you will be prepared for a disaster tomorrow. It is better to have survival supplies and not need them than to need them and not have them.

Many people do not plan for such an event because they think it will not happen in their area. And even if a disaster strikes, they believe that the problem will take care of itself and that they will be able to find resources available somewhere. They think that the groceries stores will be open or fast food restaurants will still be serving food.

But there have been many disasters over the years that have shut down all the food resources for a period of time so it is best to plan for the worst and hope for the best. You can start by finding a place in your home to store food that you would use in an emergency such as an area in your basement. The basement is a good place to store food because it is usually the coolest place in your home.

Also it is a place that does not have direct sunlight in most cases. If you have shelves to store food in the basement then great, if not build shelves yourself or have someone with building skills put them in for you. Some people have the right idea by storing up food for an emergency, but they go about the process wrong.

Do not make the common mistake that people make. Many have good intentions, but they go about the storage situation wrong. They will buy a month supply of food, let it go bad after about a year and then throw it out and replace it. This is a waste of money and food.

Rotate the food you store. Every six to eight weeks, or before the food goes bad, take it from storage and use it, and then replace it. You can buy a lot of food in bulk from membership stores that sell product in large containers. The containers are easy to store because they are made to stack on shelves.

A good way to store food is to use food containers such as buckets or empty coffee cans or other containers that once held food. Do not use containers for food storage that contained chemicals like paint or other compounds.

You should also have a survival kit in your car. You may have to evacuate your home after a short notice. You will not have time to take food from you storage and put it into your car. And even if you did have time, you will not want to carry food around in your car because it will quickly spoil with the heat in your trunk.

Instead, buy ready to prepare meals from your local camping store. The meals back packers buy and take with them out to the wilderness are a good item to have in your trunk because they stay fresh for a long time and are not affected by heat. But remember to rotate and use those ready to eat meals also just as you do with food in your home storage area.

Is It Easier To Find The Right Attorney Today?

By Jason Schultz

The moment the Supreme Court handed down its opinion in Bates v. State Bar of Arizona which overturned state laws barring lawyers from advertising as an unconstitutional impediment on free speech, it was generally believed that it would consequently be simpler to find legal counsel. This idea was founded on the premise that because attorneys were sanctioned to compete in the same means as other companies do, it would be a lot easier to meet one's needs for legal representation and that the expenses would drop.

The truth is that law firm advertising has made it less difficult to uncover an attorney. However, there is still a difficulty in discovering the correct attorney for one's particular preferences. If the chosen legal representative is inexperienced, not competent, or is lacking in the willingness or capacity to communicate successfully with a client, the client will not be pleased with the lawyer's service. Additionally, the implications for the client could be catastrophic, such as sacrificing a business or being unable to receive compensation for injuries the client suffered at the hands of a liable third party. As a way to find the best attorney, one must have more than a list of names, even if these are experts in the relevant legal location. Clients are best served by asking questions before they make a decision on a legal professional to retain.

Customer dissatisfaction with attorneys has become a main issue. A survey utilized in 1995 uncovered that out of 30,000 respondents, one-third were not pleased with the proficiency of their lawyers' services. The factors for this discontentment varied, ranging from legal professionals failing to keep their clients knowledgeable on the status of their cases, failing to guard clients' interests, failing to deal with legal matters in a timely method, and continuously charge unreasonable fees.

The explanation for this prevalent dissatisfaction is connected to the lack of knowledge by consumers on how to find lawyers experienced with the sorts of difficulties they are facing as well as learning what questions to ask a legal professional they are contemplating retaining. The results of a one thousand person survey reported in the Florida Bar Journal revealed that the average time spent in identifying an attorney was two hours or less. Almost one half of those surveyed mentioned it was challenging to uncover a good law firm, and over a quarter of them stated they did not know how to get a lawyer. It is remarkable that 80 per cent of respondents claimed theywished there was a resource for information on lawyers' experience.

One issue in looking for the proper lawyer is the ever expanding number of areas practiced by lawyers. Specialization makes choices more complicated. Law has become more specialized because changes in technology have necessitated the advancement of new fields of practice, such as Cyberlaw and Internet law. New practice areas of law have also been established by recently passed laws and regulations from such federal administrative bodies as the Environmental Protection Agency. This may impact and complicate the troubles of a person acquiring a business and trying to determine whether the seller or the buyer is liable for cleaning up a toxic waste site.

The rising number of laws and regulations have pushed legal professionals to become more specialized in order to keep up with new trends. On top of that, numerous general practice areas of the law in which a legal professional may become efficient, have now been split up into specialties. In business law, there are specialists for mergers and acquisitions as a result of the complexness involved in these transactions. Even criminal defense is not resistant to this pattern since some legal professionals now specialize in white collar crime.

Survival Martial Law In America And How To Prepare For Any Such Type Law

By Veressa Sweiltz

And truth of the matter is... NO ONE really knows for sure WHAT is going to happen. According to some recent studies , "martial law 2010" IN AMERICA could very possibly be more of a reality than most of us are even dreaming of.

It simply never has hurt anyone to be prepared.

It is not for the faint-hearted or weak knee'ed!

It is not for the faint of heart! In fact, for many of us that are into emergency preparedness, this is kind of like a whole new ball game.

So many of us have had our heads buried in the sand and are trusting the government will take care of us , no matter what may happen.

We have been taught to think that way with all the stimulus handouts, welfare checks, unemployment checks, rural development plan.... the list goes on and on.

It's not even common sense to think that way! Should there be a Martial Law in 2010, there could be a rude awakening.

EXCEPT FOR THOSE OF US THAT ARE PREPARED!

Just how many Americans know about the stuff below...

About the secret that is more important than guns food or money ...?

An Article About Public Records And How You Can Get Them Without A Charge

By Aaron Baty

Public records generally are supposed to be obtained at no cost to the members of public except under very unique circumstances, and they should no way be restricted. We are talking about the kind of records that carry personal and private data that is in the public domain either through the various government processes and transactions or have been volunteered to the government by people.

Such data are usually recorded by certain government agencies at all levels of operation like at county, local, state or national and federal levels. They are for public use and therefore are not supposed to be bought or sourced at a fee.

This means that once you find yourself in need of a public record, all you have to do is visit a designated government department or office, make your request for the said record and just wait for them to respond to you. If the public record is located, the office or agency could ask for a small payment to cover the costs of stamps or other technical expenses.

You may be wondering why a free public document should be charged for by some online public record websites. Many online companies have their own different reasons for doing so.

Some online companies will need you to pay for these services because they also had to pay for the documents at the various government agencies.

Many other agencies however, may not charge you for the document but just for their services because they have to take care of the complex database which is useful for giving you quick and easy access to the said records that are quite difficult to search for.

But if at all you are in need of public records and you find it difficult to pay, there is still a way out. You can succeed in accessing them online at no costs at all. The best way is to go to the major internet search engines like the "public record access free sites."

It is also useful to know that some websites carry links to government agencies which publish these records. There are also some that keep their own databank of free public records even though it is not as large as the ones kept by the sites that charge a fee.

The Wedding Dress

By Owen Jones

The wedding dress is just about the most crucial item in the wedding ceremony apart from the vows and the rings. The bride wants to look her best and the groom wants to look his best too. A gorgeous wedding dress will help the bride's aspiration to look stunning come true.

Therefore, it is imperative to select the wedding dress with care, as every bride knows. However, there are a few items that are not as clear as the wedding dress just looking stunning and we will list the most significant of these below.

Besides personal taste in fashion, the most important consideration has to be the time of the year. Which season are you going to get married in? What temperature is it likely to be? Could it rain? If it is likely to be cold, you ought to wear a more substantial cloth than if it is expected to be hot. You might also permit the season to have an influence on the colours you wear, but that is a matter of personal taste. For example, winter colours could be slightly darker than summer colours.

Another important factor when choosing the colour of the wedding dress is the skin colouration of the bride. This consideration is also true of the accessories. The bride will also need a head-dress, a veil, gloves and a bouquet, all of which should flatter the wedding dress and the bride's hair and skin colouration.

Try to get a wedding dress that fits perfectly. This sounds obvious, but it is easy to think that you can make minor changes yourself later on. However, making alterations is not as easy as it sounds and you could end up making matters worse rather than better. In any case, you do not want to be worrying that a stitch you made will break or come undone at the wrong moment. It is far better to get a good fitting wedding dress than to get the precise colour that you want.

It is imperative to bear in mind the quality of the image of the wedding dress, if you are buying or hiring from a catalogue or website. You also should leave plenty of time to be able to return the dress if need be. The fact is that photographs are not always true to life and packers do make mistakes, so if your selection is not what you expected, when it arrives, you will need to have a couple of weeks to return it and obtain a new one. Allow at least three weeks for the exchange; longer if possible.

White has always been the most prevalent colour for first time brides, but it is not a rule. Off-white or pastel shades look very nice too and they will set you apart from the norm. Apple white or blush pink are very effective colours for a wedding dress, but as I said before, everything should be colour co-ordinated with the colour of the bride's skin and hair and the bouquet, if you are dead set on carrying a certain bouquet of flowers, like, say, gardenias.

The Effect Of Soot On Global Warming As Well As The Need For Eco Friendly Products

By Esther Alarcon

Eco friendly products for soot management must be designed by scientists throughout the world. Soot is known as one of the important threats to the natural environment, together with carbon dioxide. Princeton University researchers have described the contribution of soot ("carbonaceous aerosols") to phenomena of climatic change and worldwide dimming. Soot comes into the world by unfinished combustion and occurs mostly from diesel motors and coal burning.

Soot consists of 2 main elements: black carbon and natural carbon.

Even though black carbon is dark in color and soaks up light, triggering the heating up of the atmosphere, natural carbon is light tinted and reflective, possessing the opposite effect. Mixed in equal quantities, their results on warming theoretically cancel each other, but both types of aerosols actually cool the weather through their effects upon cloud creation. One specific circumstance is when black carbon falls on snow or ice, darkening it and increasing its heat range, which translates in additional melted glaciers.

"Due to uncertainties in these many effects, and because of differences in whether and how these kinds of outcomes get integrated within various models, past research of soot's share to global warming have ranged broadly," said Robert Kopp, a post-doctorate specialist jointly in Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public & International Affairs as well as its Department of Geosciences. "We took several key studies, put them all on a common footing, and evaluated what came up."

Denise Mauzerall, associate teacher of environmental engineering and international affairs, and Robert Kopp, tried to estimate just how much we would have to lower the soot pollution to reduce carbon dioxide pollutants (coming specifically from diesel and badly-managed coal resources). In order to avoid "dangerous anthropogenic disturbance with the climate system", if these sources of soot remain at 1990s levels, the globe would need to see an infinitely more ambitious decrease in carbon dioxide.

"But consequences on global climate aren't the only real reason to lessen soot emissions," Mauzerall cautioned. "The public health situation for reducing emissions of fine particles, including soot, is unequivocal, and aerosol pollution could have substantial regional climate consequences. For example, soot pollution coming from India and China that's sent to the Himalayan glaciers could enhance glacier melting and hence have an impact on water resources within India, China as well as Bangladesh - potentially adding to elevated flooding in some regions within the short-term and reduced water accessibility within the longer term ."

While carbon dioxide pollutants often grow along with income, a number of the biggest soot sources are in middle-revenue countries. Within 1996, for instance, China and India are believed to have accounted for about 40 % of worldwide black carbon emissions.

"Simply because a few of the largest sources are in middle-income nations, and since the co-benefits of soot emission cutbacks could be felt immediately locally, black carbon cutbacks could serve as a catalyst for engaging these nations in weather change mitigation initiatives," Mauzerall suggested.

Reducing diesel-originated soot might be done possibly by installing far better particulate systems in tailpipes, therefore improving their cost and lowering their particular attractiveness, or by creating solely gasoline, hybrid or electric powered vehicles, just like in the U.S., and maximizing fuel consumption, because of poorer engine performance.

Debt Collectors Turn To Facebook To Find Elusive Debtors

By Mallory Megan

The times they are a changing, and chances are your debt collector is changing with them. If you have been contacted by a debt collector before, you probably know that most debt collectors are strictly regulated by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act- a federal law that mandates how they can approach you and proceed with the collection process.

Before, bill collectors used a process called "skip tracing," which is a way of tracking down hard to locate debtors. Skip tracing involves background checks, talking to post offices, old neighbors and family members, credit bureaus, and keeping a computer up to date with any data that may change on the elusive debtor's new accounts.

Nowadays, it looks like collection agents have found a cheaper, more efficient way to find their debtors - social networking websites like "Facebook." Gary Nitzkin, a credit collection lawyer with his own firm, weighs in on the situation. "On the surface of it, I can tell you that there is nothing illegal about it." On the surface indeed. However, Nitzkin and his collectors actually take a step further, "friending" the debtor on whatever social website. After they have made friends with the debtor, they then speak with other friends and find out what the debtor is doing, obtaining the scoop on their financial situation, and determining if there are any new assets that can be taken.

The FDCPA was written in 1978, before social media existed, so there are no specific guidelines monitoring contact that might be made over the internet. However, the FDCPA strictly prohibits collectors from doing or saying anything that is false or misleading. Additionally, collection agents are not allowed to contact third parties regarding a debtor's financial situation. And perhaps most importantly, collection agents abiding by the FDCPA must speak only to the debtor about the debt, and they have to verify that they are in fact speaking to the correct individual. Then after that, they must issue a "mini-miranda" letting the debtor know that this contact is an attempt to collect debt and anything said can be used for collection purposes. Nitzkin's practices are "grey area" at best, shady at worst.

If anything, this borderline abuse of media illuminates one of the major issues for the collection industry today, that the FDCPA has to be updated badly. Debtors and debt collectors alike take issue with the law. Debtors believe that the monetary damages that the FDCPA award in lawsuits should be increased due to inflation over the years, debt collectors complain that there are no provisions regarding cell phone calls in a country where only forty percent of its citizens own a landline. With technology advancing at a faster and faster rate, it is my prediction that the FDCPA won't be the only law that finds itself needing a big update.

Find Charity Organizations In Ireland To Support

By Vilkovo.eu Вилково

There are many different charity organizations in Ireland in need of support from members of the public. You may choose to support a cause that you can relate to through personal experience, or one that tugs at your heart strings. Whichever charity you choose to support, you can rest assured that it is appreciated by the people and animals these organizations care for.

National charity organizations in Ireland include the Irish Cancer Society, the Carers' Association, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Irish Heart Foundation, the Hospice Foundation, the ISPCA and the Irish Red Cross. These organizations rely on donations and support from individuals and businesses to continue their excellent work with people and animals in need throughout Ireland.

You may choose to support charity organizations in Ireland that help to alleviate poverty and hardship in the rest of the world. Oxfam Ireland and the Irish Red Cross assist countries who have experienced civil war or natural disasters, providing aid and relief to those whose lives are destroyed. Besides international and national charity organizations, there are many regional or local charities in need of help to continue their vital work. Children's homes, shelters for abused women and children, addiction centres, animal shelters and support centres for patients of various illnesses can be found in smaller towns and villages throughout Ireland.

Charity organizations supporting patients of specific illnesses or diseases are involved in a lot more than just patient care. Often they help to raise awareness of the disease, provide support for the family and loved ones of the patients, as well as funding research for cures or prevention. A disease like cancer or muscular dystrophy affects many more people than just the patient and these charities provide a vital service to the community they serve. In Ireland, there are national and local charities for cancer patients, the blind, the deaf, multiple sclerosis sufferers, AIDS patients, as well as those suffering from mental health problems.

Perhaps the best known charity for children in Ireland is Barnatos. President Mary McAleese is the patron of this charity - the largest children's charity in Ireland. The Bubblegum Club was established in 1994 to look after children with life-threatening diseases, and CARI provides sexual abuse counselling for children and their families. The ISPCC cares for children as well. The elderly are well represented too, with Age Action Ireland providing care for the elderly throughout Ireland.

No matter which charity organization in Ireland tugs at your heart strings, they all need support in the form of donations or volunteers to help them care for those in need. Supporting a charity organization need not take up huge amounts of time or money. Even a small monthly donation can make a big difference to someone's life, and a few hours of volunteer work can help a charity continue to provide care to those who really need it. Many feel this is a small price to pay for the rewards you receive - in appreciation and the knowledge that you have given kindness and care to those less fortunate than you.

Follow This Example! Ireland Is Becoming Eco-Friendly As More People Use Bicycles

By Vilkovo.biz Вилкове

Many countries around the world are encouraging the use of bicycles as an eco-friendly alternative for daily transportation. Ireland is becoming eco-friendly as more people use bicycles in this cycle-friendly country.

Cycling is popular in Ireland, but has, as in most of the world, either been used as a means of exercise or for relaxation, not as a means of transportation. The recently introduced 'Bike to Work' scheme offers employees tax exemption benefits for the purchase of a new bike or associated safety equipment, to the value of 1000 Euros. Intended to convince more people living in Ireland to use bicycles as their primary mode of transport to and from work, the tax incentive, added to fuel savings, time saved sitting in traffic and the health benefits are expected to be the primary motivators.

An increase of 8% from 2007 to 2009 has seen the number of people who cycled every day in Ireland grow to 35 000. While this only equates to 3% of the total number of trips made, the Bike to Work scheme is expected to increase these figures within the next few years. With 209km of cycling lanes in Dublin, it is no surprise that cycling is growing at the rate of 4% there. Obstacles that cyclists feel need to be addressed before cycling will really take off include the fact that many cycling lanes are shared with buses and the inadequate parking facilities at public places such as shops and restaurants. Government is addressing these problems, and is expecting cycling as a means of transport to and from work to become more popular with each passing year.

Ireland is becoming more eco-friendly as the use of bicycles increases, comparing well to other European countries, although Asia is at the forefront of the move to cycling, mainly due to their population density. Ireland offers many eco-friendly holiday options, including cycling tours and holidays. If you don't fancy cycling for days on end, consider hiring a bicycle for a few days. Use it to pop down to the local shops, or to take a slow ride out to nearby sights. The view from a bicycle is unfettered, providing a closer view of the surrounding country than you will get from a car. One advantage of a cycling holiday that, rather than returning home having picked up a few pounds due to overindulgence, you will get back home in better than shape than when you left.

Cycling tours allow you to experience the countryside in a way that is just not possible confined in a car. If you are on a mountain bike, you can reach spots that cars cannot, often providing you with a better view or a different perspective of the sights.

Various local initiatives are contributing the growth of cycling as a means of transport in Ireland. One 'bike scrapping' scheme in Mayo County allows you to trade your old bicycle for a discount on a new one. Not only does this help people to better equip themselves for cycling, it helps to improve bike safety and therefore the safety of the cyclists on them. It also ensures that the old bikes are recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Whether you live in Ireland or are just visiting, help Ireland become eco-friendly, and use a bicycle to get around.

14 Million Acres Of Property In US For Solar Power And Other Eco Friendly Products

By Esther Alarcon

The usage and development of eco friendly products should be prioritized to control the results of global warming around the world. If you take all the forgotten and categorized former industrial sites and dumps across the U.S. and add them together, you have 14 million acres of inexpensive, available land which might be used as sites for brand new solar installations and wind farms. Today the U.S. EPA is pressing ahead with just such a plan, with the National Renewable Energy Laboratories (NREL) helping to evaluate brownfields and Superfund sites for renewable power. This program is known as Re-Powering America's Land. It also has a green jobs perspective, through Recovery Act financing. Most of the potential places are located in or near existing residential areas and could offer brand new work opportunities for local inhabitants.

But wait, there's more. Aside from providing brand new green jobs and clean energy for community use or perhaps the broader power grid, the particular program also focuses on green remediation, which makes use of alternative energy to power up products used for site clean-up. When you add that up - harvesting clean power coming from land that is blighted and functional for not much else, while creating work opportunities and re-establishing the site, you have to wonder why any person would like to continue blowing up America's mountains, compromising our water supply, and doing damage to the Gulf of Mexico in quest for fossil fuels.

Getting Back Land for Renewable Power

Among the actual fourteen million acres of classified land inside the U.S., conditions in the sites can differ widely. Along with brownfields and Superfund sites, EPA and NREL are looking at terrain classified within the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. That means the actual sites could range from individual abandoned factories with minimum hazardous resources involved, to a part of a toxic stew which blights a whole region, like the Hazleton area in Pennsylvania that includes the Jeddo Mine Tunnel, infamous for releasing countless gallons of contaminated water from abandoned mines every day for the past century.

Getting a Spot for Solar Arrays and Wind Farms

In addition to evaluating the places for factors that would enhance (or impede) power harvesting from the sun as well as wind, EPA along with NREL are also looking at the type of installation that a particular site could host. The conventional solar installation, for instance, doesn't need a cornerstone to be dug, so it could very easily be installed on top of a capped land fill. For wind turbines, a system of concrete footings and supporting cables can be built, rather than burrowing directly into polluted ground.

A Brand New Energy Potential

It may be said - so I'll say it - that at one time fossil fuels saved the U.S. from becoming a barren wasteland without trees. Really, it's hard to think about just how we might have powered up until now without burning each and every stick of wood across the nation. But times shift, and our fossil fuel friends have outlived their stay. These had been of marginal use at the birth of this particular nation, and as we continue straight into a brand new energy future they will go back to that condition. It is only a question of when, not really if.

Why Online Public Records Are Usually Not Free

By Grace Ryan

Public records are, by definition, open without restriction (mostly) to the public. They often contain personal or private information. The government has designated these as public because the documents were voluntarily disclosed, or because the actions of the various agencies require disclosure.

All public records are supposed to be free. They were disclosed in the first place to allow public access. The records are kept by government agencies at all levels (national or federal, state, local).

Suppose you need a copy of a public record document. If you go to the right government agency, and simply ask for the record you want, you can generally get a copy. On occasion the agency may ask for a small fee to cover costs such as technical expenses and stamps.

How come some online sites charge more than a nominal fee, then, if these records are supposed to be free? Well, the answer is actually more than one answer. Different companies have different reasons.

One reason a site may ask you to pay is that they themselves purchased the documents from government agencies.

On some other sites, the document is free but the search service isn't. It costs a good bit of money to maintain a huge, complex database for you to search.

Suppose you need the information contained in a public record, but you don't have a way to pay for the record. Don't panic! You can always access public records for free online. Go to a major search engine, and search "public record access free sites."

You can also find websites to government agencies that allow free online access to records. Some other sites maintain databases of free records. These are generally smaller though than the sites that will charge you.

About The Wedding Ring

By Owen Jones

One's wedding ring is often a person's most important piece of jewellery, because of the huge significance that it has for its wearer. It is intended to denote the love that exists between two people. In most countries, the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger of the left hand - the ring finger, although in Norway, Germany and Russia, it is worn on the fourth finger of the right hand.

It is generally a good idea to have your finger measured by an expert, before buying an expensive ring, because fingers swell and shrink over the course of a life span and a good jeweller will know how much leeway to allow. If the change in the size of your finger is likely to be lasting, it is a good idea to have the ring resized, this is so that it will neither cut into you nor fall off your finger easily.

These days a lot of couples like to go shopping for wedding rings together, because they want to buy a pair of matching rings that both of them likes. However, it does not have to be like that. In fact it never was, because the man bought the ring for his fiancee as a surprise. So, if you do not have the same tastes, do not worry about it.

There are hundreds of styles to choose from and several kinds and qualities of metal too. Yellow gold is still the most popular, but there is white gold and specialist golds too like Welsh gold, which is very rare. Besides gold, platinum and titanium are very popular too.

A fast developing trend is for a couple to design or have designed a unique pair of wedding rings. At first, you would think that this would be very expensive, but it is not necessarily so. If you keep your design modest and the stones, if any, equally so, then the rings might only cost 10%-20% more than those off the shelf.

Gold is still the most popular metal for a wedding ring, but silver is starting to gain ground too, although it was always looked on as the poor cousin before. Likewise, diamonds are the still the number one stone of choice, but sapphires are also very popular nowadays. Or you could go for plain bands with something like a Celtic knot design.

Shopping for wedding rings can be enjoyable, but it is easy to go over the top and spend much more than you intended to. You could decide how much you can afford and stick to it, not that that always works either. Expect to pay a lot more for the bride's wedding ring than the groom's. This is because the bride's ring usually contains diamonds, whereas the groom's is often a plain band of gold.

You could further personalize your wedding rings with an inscription and a date. Personalized, or unique wedding rings often get handed down through the generations. Possibly, yours will too. Or, if you want to wear your grandmother's handed-down ring, you could personalize it in some way, so that it is both old and yet something of you as well.

Teens And A Bad Job Market

By Joe Louis

Now that summer has arrived, teenagers who wanted jobs should have them by now. If they don't, they are finding that the economy is really bad just like it was last year. Teens without jobs now are facing the very real possibility that they won't be able to find one at all this summer.

In the current job market, it is common for teenagers to face a lot of rejection. If you are a teen that has been turned down for multiple jobs, you need to make sure you are not making any critical mistakes that might be contributing to your failure.

When you fill out an application for a job, you are usually asked for an email address and a phone number where you can be contacted. A mistake that some teenagers may be making is to not make sure they are using voice messages and emails addresses that sound professional.

Companies now have more applications than they have jobs and so they are being picky in whom they hire. If you make the mistake of having a silly sounding voice mail that is really meant for your friends, it will not sound good to a manager who is an adult. You want to make sure your message on your phone is clearly spoken and sounds like you are a responsible person.

Along the same lines, you want to be using an email address that has your name in it and not one that fun or even embarrassing. You need to remember that your email address that you choose reflects on who you are and many employers will go on to the next applicant if you use an email that sounds silly or juvenile.

It is all right to have an email from a free service such as AOL or Yahoo as a lot of adults have them too. However, you shouldn't have something like "JasonDigsSally(at)Yahoo.com" as that will be something that will immediately turn off any employer. If a manager sees you have used an email like that for a contact, they may just move on to the next applicant who appears to be a more serious worker.

This year, as last year was, is a hard time for any teenager to find a job. You need to keep trudging on and apply at as many places you can to give yourself the best opportunity. You also need to make sure you are not making any silly mistakes like the ones described above that will hurt your chances.

One Of A Kind Wedding Rings

By Owen Jones

The practice of giving and wearing a wedding ring dates back thousands of years. A wedding ring represents fidelity and love between two people and are given on the day of a couple joining forces. Before the time that the skill of how to work metal became widely known, people used such things as plants, grass and even hair to 'tie the knot', which is what I think a wedding ring stands for.

These days a typical wedding ring might be made from valuable metals such as gold, titanium, platinum or even white gold. Women's wedding rings often hold a diamond, although sapphires are rapidly becoming more prevalent. Men's wedding rings are often just a plain band of gold. There are many distinctive styles of wedding rings, but the most popular for men is definitely the plain gold band.

For those who want something a bit more flamboyant, there are plenty of examples on the market. A man might want a more grandiose wedding ring, because it is often the only piece of jewellery that a man wears. Some alternatives to the plain band of gold are the Celtic Knot and the Claddagh gold rings.

It is important for men's wedding rings to be made from a strong alloy of gold. Most men do physical labour of one kind or another, even if it is only gardening, so it is a lot to ask of a pure gold wedding ring to last thirty or forty years.

A 14 or 18 carat gold ring will probably manage it, but a 22 carat ring would not. It would just wear away because it is too pure and consequently too soft. Platinum or titanium are much harder, although most people have a preference for gold.

In most countries tradition dictates that people wear their wedding ring on their left hand, although in a few countries such as Germany, Russia and Norway, people wear their wedding ring on the right hand.

Some couples would rather have a unique wedding ring and that is not so difficult to achieve as it might first appear to be. The easiest way to personalize your ring is to have an inscription like names and a date engraved on it.

Another way, would be to buy a precious stone separately and have the jeweller set it into the ring for you. The best option though is to find a jeweller you can trust and have him or her make up a pair of matching rings to your own design. I have done that and it is not a lot more expensive than a good ring.

Wearing matching wedding rings is a notable experience. People notice that your ring is 'something different' and many people ask, where you got them from. It all goes to help make that special day unforgettable for ever.

If you're looking for an African safari with big game and large predators, Ireland is probably not the ideal destination. Ireland's five national parks do however offer some spectacular and fascinating wildlife, bird and insect life for visitors to enjoy, set in diverse and beautiful countryside.

The biggest, and perhaps most spectacular mammal in Ireland is also unique to the country. Red Deer can be found in all the national parks - Killarney, Glenveagh, Ballycroy, Wicklow Mountains or Connemara - sometimes in surprisingly large numbers. Smaller mammals include pine marten, Irish stoat, red fox, mink, otter, badgers and hare, while fallow deer and sika deer can be seen in the Wicklow Mountains National Park as well. The famous Connemara ponies are found wandering the beautiful Connemara countryside, belying their domesticated roots.

Most of the national parks as well as the untouched and uninhabited regions of Ireland boast a number of raptors, including peregrine, owls and falcon. The Golden Eagle, extinct in Ireland since 1912, has recently been reintroduced in Glenveagh National Park, with considerable success. Golden plover, ravens and many other bird species make Ireland a popular destination for birdwatchers.

Ireland has two magnificent zoos to cater for the visitor looking for animals from further afield. Both are well laid out and feature enclosures that are designed to imitate or replicate the animals' natural habitat. Dublin Zoo boasts rhino, hippo, lion, Siberian tiger, snow leopard and a variety of primates. Belfast Zoo includes snow tigers, Asian elephants and spectacled bears in its variety of animal species.

The Exploris Aquarium and Seal Sanctuary in Northern Ireland features an open sea tank with deep water fish, and discovery pools for children to experience the creatures of the sea up close. The stunning coastlines of Ireland provide an opportunity to see seals and other sea life in their natural environment as well, and whale and dolphin can be seen at certain times of the year.

Fota Wildlife Park is a 70 acre park on Fota Island in Cork Harbour where visitors can wander amongst free roaming animals for an exciting and educational experience. Fota Wildlife Park specifically features endangered or threatened species, making a trip to this park even more meaningful, as many of the animals they have are no longer found in the wild such as the Rothschild Giraffe and European Bison. Other animals found in the park (not all of them free-roaming) include cheetah, lemur, emu, monkeys, kangaroos, penguin, red panda and many more.

While the zoos may offer visitors the opportunity to see unusual, exotic and dangerous animals, the national parks of Ireland provide an opportunity to explore the habitat of its native wildlife on foot or by bicycle without fear of attack by large predators. The ability to experience any wildlife in close proximity, in their natural habitat, should not be passed up.

Do Ireland's Presidents Have A Role In Cultural Life?

By Vilkovo.biz вилкове

Ireland's presidents, both present and past, have traditionally played an active role in the cultural life of the country. Ireland's political leaders rely on their local political support a lot more than in other countries, making their roles in local society far more important in terms of their election and re-election. This means that the president of Ireland has to be involved in the everyday life of the citizens of Ireland.

President Mary McAleese, the 8th president of Ireland, clearly takes her role in cultural life seriously, supporting local cultural events, festivals and activities throughout Ireland. Her presence at local events, from school recitals to international exhibitions, ensures that her support of the arts and culture of Ireland are visible to all members of the community. Her patronage of local cultural organizations, attendance at events and support of cultural activities actively encourages participation and preservation of Ireland's rich cultural heritage.

President McAleese validates the efforts of cultural organizations with her support of their initiatives. By presenting awards, attending music recitals and art gallery openings, she motivates the community to support arts and culture and thereby preserve their heritage. Her support extends to the many multi-cultural events that Ireland is host to as well.

On an official level, President McAleese has shown her support for arts and culture with international visits to showcase Ireland's talent and make inroads into the international market. In 2008 she accompanied Enterprise Ireland and the Irish Film Board on a visit to Hollywood to promote Ireland's talent in the industry, as well as the country as filmmaking location. The president also attended the European Cultural Foundation National Conference, representing Irish interests and culture. President McAleese presents numerous awards throughout the year, many of them based on cultural activities and achievements, such as Ireland's Laureate for Children's Literature.

The formation of the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands, founded at the end of former President Mary Robinson's term in office, has helped to improve government's support of the graphic and visual arts. Protecting and preserving historic and cultural heritage of Ireland remains a vital aim of this department, responsible for organising, sponsoring and supporting various cultural activities and events around the country.

Of particular importance in the role of the president in cultural life in Ireland is the interaction with children and youth. This is the generation who will continue the cultural traditions of Ireland, and the president's role of encouragement and support is vital. From continuing the artistic traditions and learning the local crafts to preserving the language and music of Ireland, the participation of children is important. This is perhaps where the President's role in the cultural life of Ireland plays the most important part.
