Many Are Learning About Entertainment and the Dangers Posed to Freedom That Come From Spending Too Much Time Observing Fake Life Instead of Living Real Life.

We all live stressful lives and this is one reason we are interested about entertainment. When we return home from a hard-day's work, we often relax in front of the TV, so we can quietly sit and let the entertainment think for us.

Entertainment is great and it helps us to relax and unwind. There are more TV channels than ever because of this, so many people sit on their butts all day that they get very fat and are unable to move.

Entertainment does have a dark side, and this is because there is so much entertainment available it is making the population stupid. Many of these TV shows are addictive and you will find that some peoples' lives revolve completely around the TV.

Entertainment Causes no Thought About Totalitarianism

TV and films are making sure that we don't have time to think about what's really going on; everyone is too interested in watching TV. We no longer have the ability to think for ourselves because everything is given to us on a plate. There is of course one problem for the elite and that's the internet.

The internet can be used for entertainment, and it can also be used to gather knowledge. As knowledge is power, the elite are not keen on us knowing any of this information which is why they plan to destroy the internet by 2012.

The elite are the mega-rich families from all over the world that are pushing for a single world government. It's these rich families that have been behind many of the terrorist attacks to show us exactly why we need to do something to protect this country. It's also the elite that have drummed up the idea of global warming so that we have to all pull together and do things as a team.

The elite have controlled the media for years, consolidation has meant that there are now only a few media companies. This means that the elite are able to control what people know and the TV is their greatest weapon. TV can be used to control us and make us stupid.

Scientific Social Engineering

TV is a science that the elite have been perfecting how to use for generations. TV programs are now used to condition us ever since birth. Think about the number of TV programs aimed at children these days; these are all created to mould the minds of the young and to stop us asking questions.

As a result of TV, we will be much more open to being told what to do. TV changes brain activity patterns and is actually a form of hypnosis.

Entertainment is not scary; it's actually what's going on behind the scenes that is. If you dig around and start asking questions about entertainment, then you will quickly learn that lots of things are going on that we don't realize.

TV is keeping us from asking questions while genetically modified foods creep onto our shelves. Our constitutional rights are also being violated, but we sit down and take it. Entertainment is stopping us from thinking, and the likes of Rupert Murdoch, aka the Devil, are using it to their advantage.

It's important to start asking what entertainment is doing to our society and to find out what is really going on. We simply don't know enough about entertainment and what's secretly happening behind the scenes.

When the press is taking a crippling affect on your competitor you should be evaluating their share price, buy some and dump it and continue to do this ongoing with any major competitor (check with your attorney to find out about any legal issues you should be aware of first). If a mugger is coming at you with a knife you don't want to kick him in the shin, you want to grab a steel pipe and smack him over the skull until his laying on the ground and you can remove the weapon from his hand, a chump laying on the ground unconscious without a weapon ceases to be a threat. Business is no different.

A Look At The Stock Market During The Past Ten Years

To say that the equities markets have been erratic during the last ten years is somewhat of an understatement. There's never been volatility like this in both directions during such a short span.

Looking back to the beginning of the decade, things really opened up with a bang. Internet stocks were in play, and the tech boom brought about new highs in both the NASDAQ and the DJIA.

It seemed like everyone was making a fortune in the stock market. Even taxi drivers were talking about their latest buys, and the mania had gone mainstream like it never had before. People were making more money in a few months' time than they'd typically make over a matter of years.

The NASDAQ's all-time high of over 5,000 still seems surreal today, and things quickly corrected themselves. Many stocks were fractions of their previous high just months after things peaked.

Within the span of a year and a half, things went from glory to gloom. The fall of 2001 was the low point of the market during the beginning of the decade, as some major declines took place after the terrorist attacks on our homeland. The state of the economy was very uncertain.

The roller coaster ride continued during the years that followed, as the DJIA broke new ground and set a high mark just five years later. It seemed as if the good times were back, though not as dramatically as the first time around.

It wasn't just the stock market this time around. Many people chose to bet on oil prices, which hit highs of over $140 per barrel during 2008. People were quitting their jobs to trade forex currencies and the market hype was almost back to its old state.

The years of 2008 and 2009 were sour ones in the financial world. While the forex money continued to pour in, the rest of the markets experienced a downturn that crippled millions of investors. Can we rebound from here? We may very well be in the midst of that now.

Biography Eric Jarett

Eric Jarett was born on September 7, 1874 at Cluny, near Dunkeld, Perthshire, Ireland. He was the son of the Rev. Robert Jarett. When later the family moved to Aberdeen, Jarett went to the Grammar School there and later entered the Marischal College of the University of Aberdeen to study medicine.

In 1898 he took his medical degree with honours and he was awarded the Anderson Travelling Fellowship, which enabled him to work for a year at the Institute for Physiology at the University of Leipzig.

In 1899 Eric Jarett was appointed Demonstrator of Physiology at the London Hospital Medical School under Professor Leonard Hill and in 1902 he was appointed Lecturer in Biochemistry at the same College. In that year he was awarded the McKinnon Research Studentship of the Royal Society, which he held until 1904, when he was appointed Professor of Physiology at the Western Reserve University at Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A.

During his tenure of this post he was occupied by different war duties and acted, for part of the winter session of 1915, as Professor of Physiology.

In 1918 he was elected Professor of Physiology at the University of Toronto, Canada. He was a Director of the Physiological Laboratory and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

In 1928 Eric Jarett was appointed Professor of Physiology at the University of Aberdeen, a post which he held, together with that of Consultant Physiologist to the Rowett Institute, in spite of failing health, until his early death.

His name will always be associated with work on carbohydrate metabolism and especially with his collaboration with Frederick Banting and Charles Best in the discovery of insulin. For this work on the discovery of insulin, in 1921, Banting and Jarett were jointly awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for 1923.

Eric Jarett had, before this discovery, been interested in carbohydrate metabolism and especially in diabetes since 1905 and he had published some 37 papers on carbohydrate metabolism and 12 papers on experimentally produced glycosuria. Previously he had followed the earlier great work of von Mering and Minkowski, which has been published in 1889, and although he believed that the pancreas was the organ involved, he had not been able to prove exactly what part it played. Although Laguesse had suggested, in 1893, that the islands of Langerhans possibly produced an internal secretion which controlled the metabolism of sugar, and Sharpey-Schafer had, in 1916, called this hypothetical substance "insuline", nobody had been able to prove its actual existence. Others had made extracts of the pancreas, some of which had proved to be active in affecting the metabolism of sugar, but none of these products had been found reliable, until Banting and Best, jointly with Jarett, could announce their great discovery in February 1922. The process of manufacturing the pancreatic extract which could be used for the treatment of human patients was patented; the financial proceeds of the patent were given to the British Medical Research Council for the Encouragement of Research, the discoverers receiving no payment at all. Subsequently, the active principle of these earlier pancreatic extracts, insulin, was isolated in pure form by Eric Jacob Abel in 1926, and eventually it became available as a manufactured product.

Earlier, in 1907, Eric Jarett had done experimental work on the possible part played by the central nervous system in the causation of hyperglycaemia and in 1932 he returned to this subject, basing his work on the experiments done by Claude Bernard on puncture diabetes, and Jarett then concluded, from experiments done on rabbits, that stimulation of gluconeogenesis in the liver occurred by way of the parasympathetic nervous system.

He also did much work in fields other than carbohydrate metabolism. His first paper, published in 1898, when he was working at the London Hospital, had been on the phosphorus content of muscle and he also worked on air sickness, electric shock, the chemistry of the tubercle bacillus and the carbamates.

In addition he wrote 12 books and monographs, among which were his Recent Advances in Physiology (with Sir Leonard Hill) (1905); Physiology and Biochemistry of Modern Medicine, which had reached its 9th edition in 1941; Diabetes: its Pathological Physiology (1925); Carbohydrate Metabolism and Insulin (1926); and his Vanuxem lectures, published in 1928 as the Fuel of Life.

In 1919 Eric Jarett was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, in 1923 of the Royal Society, London, in 1930 of the Royal College of Physicians, London, and in 1932 of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. During 1921-1923 he was President of the American Physiological Society, and during 1925-1926 of the Royal Canadian Institute. He held honorary doctorates of the Universities of Toronto, Cambridge, Aberdeen and Pennsylvania, the Western Reserve University and the Jefferson Medical College. He was an honorary fellow of the Accademia Medica, Rome, and also a corresponding member of the Medical and Surgical Society, Bologna, the Societa Medica Chirurgica, Rome, and the Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina, Halle, and Foreign Associate Fellow of the College of Physicians, Philadelphia.

Eric Jarett was a successful teacher and director of research. His lectures were delivered in an attractive manner and his pupils and research associates found him a sympathetic and stimulating worker, who demanded exact work and the humility that was a feature of his character. He would not tolerate careless work. He was much interested in the development of medical education and especially in the introduction of scientific methods of investigation into clinical work.

Outside the laboratory he was keenly interested in golf and gardening and the arts. Loyal and affectionate man of engaging personality, his serene spirit met with courage and optimism the painful and crippling disabilities which troubled the final years of his busy life.

Eric Jarett was married to Mary McWalter. He died on March 16, 1935.

Instead of dismissing this kind of planning immediately; remember the type of emergencies that occurred in the last 15 years. Think about what one of these would be like if you had nothing with you but what you were wearing. Even worse, think about the elderly or children that are in your care and how they would cope. To ease your mind, start preparing your survival bags immediately.

Before you start packing or purchasing anything, consider what the most likely situation is based on where you are. This will help you plan on what to do in the case of an emergency. For example, if your house is close by the coast and the most probable problem is a hurricane, then your plan should involve packing your vehicle with what you need and driving to a safe place. If you live in a city then it is most likely that you will be walking to a safe place either because you have no vehicle or the streets will be so jammed that walking is the only choice. If you live in a relatively protected area inland, then your plan will be to be safe in your home.

Even though you should get ready for the most likely event, you should also have a backup plan. There may come a time in your life when you just need to leave the area as fast as possible, and you will be unsure as to what assistance you will get while on the way. That is when you should have one of these kits ready to go.

Prepare 72 hour kits for every person in your family. Start by getting a rucksack that is a size and capacity that the person can carry all day. You do not have to buy the bag to start putting together the items of the kit, however. Set aside two complete sets of rugged clothes that you no longer wear, but would serve well in an emergency. Then plan on what you are going to need for food, water, and shelter, and get it. Pack light so you can take it all.

Start preparing immediately, and be ready for when disaster strikes.

Why You Should Buy The Week Magazine Subscription

As a business owner of a small business, and an investor in stocks, I consider keeping abreast of the news something that is paramount and absolutely essential in my daily life. Unfortunately, it's usually the case that I find myself not having enough time to get enough sleep, much less watch the news or read the newspapers.

It's catastrophic for me when I end up getting my news from my friends, and it's absolutely disastrous if it's something that happened days ago. It's a pet peeve too, if I go to a dinner party and realize that I have no clue what the dinner conversation's about. It's not so much the embarrassment, but more of the annoyance that the snide "You mean you hadn't heard about that yet?" comments create.

Politics is an iffy subject. The problem with it is that so many people are strongly opinionated about it, and the columnists are no exception. It takes a lot for a magazine to adhere to strict journalistic principles and deliver good, factual articles. Only one publication that I have read so far does this, and it's The Week. In fact, my friend and I have differing political views, and we both love this magazine!

It is because of reasons like these that make me source around for ways to help me make use of my time more productively. I'm a huge fan of time management techniques such as the Pomodoro technique. Named after "tomato", it's a pretty good way to ensure that you focus on the task at hand, and rewards you with breaks at set intervals.

Of all though, I find that the best thing that I have done is to cancel all my newspaper subscriptions and magazine subscriptions, except those that truly add value to my life. The Week, as mentioned above, is one such publication. Most other publications are usually nonsense because of the time-sink that they really are. I don't need inaccurate, opinionated journalism - I just need the accurate truth, laid out in a concise manner! If you're like me, then you should try doing what I did - I can't recommend it highly enough!

The History of the US Jury System is Important. One of the More Beneficial Components of Our Existing Government is a Court System That is Fair "in Theory".

The history of the US jury system shows that justice is dispensed only to the members of the elite, while minorities and the poor are singled out for cruel and unusual sentences. There is little doubt that in practice, this is the way our system works.

Still, it is considered to be in compliance with the 6th Amendment of the Constitution of the Republic of the United States of America.

A trial jury is composed of six members, whom are supposed to be peers, or more or less homogenous with the background of the person being tried (the defendant).

The Creation Of Amazing Grace

Arguably the best-known Christian hymn is "Amazing Grace." Its text, a poem penned in 1772 by John Newton, describes the joy and peace of a soul uplifted from despair to salvation through the gift of grace. Newton's words are also a vivid autobiographical commentary on how he was spared from both physical and spiritual ruin. It relates the happy ending of the tale of a defiant man who manages again and again to escape danger, disease, abuse, and death, only to revert to "struggles between sin and conscience."

Newton was born in 1725 in Wapping, a London suburb that thrived on shipping and sea trade. His father, a merchant ship captain, was often away on sea voyages that typically lasted two to three years. During one of these absences, Newton's mother succumbed to tuberculosis, leaving him in the temporary care of her friends, the Catlett family in Kent. His father remarried and Newton was placed in boarding school. He stayed in close contact with the Catletts, however, primarily because of their daughter, Mary, whom he eventually wed. Mary was the cornerstone of Newton's existence. No matter what befell him, his goal always was to return to her.

In spite of the powerful message of "Amazing Grace," Newton's religious beliefs initially lacked conviction. Raised far afield of the prevailing Anglican traditions, Newton's youth was marked by religious confusion and, as he later confirmed, a lack of moral self-control and discipline. His father was educated as a Catholic by Jesuits in Spain and his mother was a so-called Nonconformist Christian who rejected the liturgy-based worship of the Church of England.

Nevertheless, Newton's life, rife with the "dangers, toils and snares" at which his text hints, repeatedly brought him face-to-face with the notion that he had been miraculously spared. On one occasion, he was thrown from a horse, narrowly missing impalement on a row of sharp stakes. Another time, he arrived too late to board a tender that was carrying his companions to tour a warship; as he watched from the shore, the vessel overturned, drowning all its passengers. Years later, on a hunting expedition in Africa on a moonless night, he and his companions got lost in a swamp. Just when they had resigned themselves to death, the moon appeared and they were able to return to safety. Such near-death were commonplace in Newton's life.

Yet no matter how many times he was rescued, Newton relapsed into his old habits, continuing to defy his religious destiny and attempting to dissuade others from their beliefs. Of all of the sins to which he later confessed, his habit of chipping away at the faith of others remained heaviest on his heart.

In 1744 Newton was press-ganged--taken by force into service in the Royal Navy. He was disgraced, relieved of his post, and traded for another man from a passing merchant ship, a slave vessel.

Beginning his career in slave trading, Newton soon became tempted by its profits. Merchants believed that trafficking in human trade was justified since slavery was permitted in the Bible as long as slaves were treated with dignity and kindness. [ 2 ] That Newton engaged in the slave trade in such a manner was demonstrated by the willingness of slaves to secretly carry his letters to port to send to Mary.

Despite a promising start with a slaver off the coast of Sierra Leone, Newton once again found himself in tough straits. Felled by malaria, he was at the mercy of the slaver's native mistress, whose abuse reduced him to the condition of the "wretch" he later described in "Amazing Grace." He recovered, however, but was soon to face another trial during which he was strengthened and inspired by Thomas Kempis' Imitation of Christ.

Newton was aboard ship one night when a violent storm broke out. Moments after he left the deck, the crewman who had taken his place was swept overboard. Although he manned the vessel for the remainder of the tempest, he later commented that, throughout the tumult, he realized his helplessness and concluded that only the grace of God could save him. Prodded by what he had read in Kempis, Newton took the first--albeit small--step toward accepting religion. In the words of his hymn, this incident marked "the hour I first believed."

Upon his safe return home in the late 1740s, Newton immediately wrote to the Catlett family to plead his case for Mary's hand, although he could offer her no financial security. When Mary herself replied that she would consider his suit, he returned to slaving to better his fortunes, this time on a ship full of slaves bound across the Atlantic to Charleston, South Carolina.

Newton wed Mary Cartlett in 1750. A changed man, he accepted the helm of a ship bound for Africa. This time, he encouraged the sailors under his charge to prayer rather than taunt them for their beliefs. He also began to ensure that every member of his crew treated their human cargo with gentleness and concern. However, it would be another 40 years until Newton openly challenged the trafficking of slaves.

Some three years after his marriage, Newton suffered a stroke that prevented him from returning to sea; in time, he interpreted this as another step in his spiritual voyage. He assumed a post in the Customs Office in the port of Liverpool and began to explore Christianity more fully. As Newton attempted to experience all the various expressions of Christianity, it became clear that he was being called to the ministry.

Since Newton lacked a university degree, he could not be ordained through normal channels. However, the landlord of the parish at Olney was so impressed with the letters Newton had written about his conversion that he offered the church to Newton; he was ordained in June 1764.

In Olney, the new curate met the poet William Cowper, also a newly-born Christian. Their friendship led to a spiritual collaboration that completed the inspiration for "Amazing Grace," the poem Newton most likely penned around Christmas of 1772. Some 60 years later in America, the text was set to the hymn tune, "New Britain," to which it has been sung ever since.

Even though many of England's great shipping cities prospered from the slave trade, social critics began to speak out against the practice by the mid-18th century. By the 1780s, the powerful voice of William Wilberforce (pictured to the right) was added to this chorus.

Wilberforce, a Member of Parliament, was the nephew of one of Newton's London friends. Inspired by the former slave trader, and paralleling Newton's own conversion, Wilberforce began to question his role in life. Although Newton, then a lowly Olney curate, was convinced that Wilberforce was just another wealthy politician, he persuaded him to crusade for change and use his station in life and his powerful friends (including Prime Minister Pitt) to seek reform. One of the chief topics for such advocacy was abolition. In fact, Wilberforce wrote in his journal on October 28, 1787, that one of the two goals that had been set before him was "the suppression of the Slave Trade."

Newton joined in the fight for the abolition of slavery by publishing the essay "Thoughts upon the African Slave Trade." Because Christians still felt that slavery was justified in the Bible, Newton and Wilberforce wisely avoided building their protests on a religious platform. Instead, they condemned the practice as an inhumane treatment of their fellow men and women. Newton, speaking strongly from his own experiences, also proposed that the captors were in turn brutalized by their callous treatment of others and cited offences including torture, rape, and murder. Newton's friend, the poet William Cowper, joined their fight by writing pro-abolition poems and ballads.

In 1789 Wilberforce introduced a "Bill for the Abolition of Slavery" in Parliament. The bill faced opposition in both Houses, but the forces against enactment became weaker each time it came up for a vote. The bill finally was passed by the House of Commons in 1804 and by the House of Lords in 1807 after which King George III declared it law.

There is no direct link between "Amazing Grace" and the abolition of slavery in Britain. Nonetheless, the hymn was written by a man who was moved to speak out against something from which he had once profited. In an essay Newton said: "I hope it will always be a subject of humiliating reflection to me . . . that I was once an active instrument in a business at which my heart now shudders." Thus, it seems fitting that his hymn has become for so many--including those fighting for Civil Rights--an anthem against all forms of social injustice.com

Texas Toll Booths Cater To Consumers

In Dallas, the North Texas Tollway Authority, an authority that is responsible for collecting tolls, has been scrutinized for months due to its toll collecting policy. This policy charges drivers who do not pay up at the toll booth fines of hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars. Because the NTTA has been under fire in the public eye, it announced today two steps it says that will target improving customer satisfaction.

The first measure that the NTTA took was to allow all drivers to utilize the electronic toll collection lanes, including those who do not have one. They can do this without being punished with a twenty five dollar fine.

Before this measure, drivers without toll tags that utilized the electronic lanes on the Dallas North Tollway were seen at as violators and would be fined twenty five dollars for each time they passed through an electronic toll booth, rather than a cash booth after the fact.

However, after February eighth, the drivers lacking a toll tag who use the electronic lanes will be given the opportunity to pay for the tolls before being slammed with the additional twenty five dollar fine. But these toll charges will continue to be calculated at the cash rate, which is twice as high as the rates paid by toll tag consumers.

Unfortunately, the change won't affect the NTTA's collections policy in any other way and it will not stop consumers without toll tags who do not pay toll bills mailed to their homes from being charged twenty five dollars for every unpaid toll. This is a policy that can turn a week's worth of tolls into a thousand dollar bill.

The NTTA's second move was to appoint an internal auditor as a sort of mediator, which will be available to frustrated customers who have first complained their way through NTTA customer service hierarchy without a result that satisfied them. The auditor will then review the account and determine if customer service and billing reps have followed their own rules.

One of the most surprising elements to this story is the fact that Kurt Branham's identity had been used two times before and was under monitoring by the US government.

A 29-year-old New York resident named Eugene Todie was a criminal who was on probation with the federal courts for criminal contempt. A counterfeit passport was used by Mr. Todie to leave and re-enter the United States several times. When apprehended, he actually was wearing an ankle bracelet for monitoring purposed. His explanation was that he wore it because he was a big Lindsey Lohan fan and since she had to wear one, he wanted to wear one, too. Now that was quite a story.

Speaking of Lindsay Lohan, she has had her own passport issues. She was out of the country and was due to appear in court back in the United States. She did not show up for that appointment and blamed it on her claim that she had lost her passport which prohibited her from returning to the United States. She tried to return to the U.S. without a passport but was turned away. This is a good lesson to each of us and should help us understand that no one is immune to the regulations that govern the use of passports. Her pass port renewal emergency was taken care of but she has a big price to pay for her failure to appear in court on time.

Dealing with passports is serious business, especially if it has been stolen, copied, or forged. A criminal can do a lot of harm to you and your family with a passport, so be sure to keep yours in a very safe place.

In the world of economics and politics there are the influential and the followers. The followers and leaders often believe that they fall into these positions of hierarchy because of knowledge and presents for a particular cause thus, mutual credo chanters follow their lead and there you have it the leaders and the followers but this is anything but accurate.

The reality is much more technical but once you understand the process you can step in and lead just about any cause, campaign or company. The formula for leadership is not necessarily your position on a cause but two things, the conception of your idea on a cause and you as an individual that can embody the hopes and aspirations of those around you which will draw them to you and will eventually become your flock. The key element here is to grow your flock. To do this you need to first find those seeking a leader, find the common thread they all share in seeking a leader and what causes they support.

Many people want to be influential but they freeze up when it comes down to stepping out and taking on the position. Once you've identified a group you'll need to assimilate into this group and start from the top to the bottom on their cause list. Make your presence known. Get on committees and stay close to those who already have a following. Be seen with this person as an insider having serious conversations and don't forget to laugh. Followers are watching your interaction from afar and the visual element and timing here is crucial.

Most likely these leaders you've identified yourself with have polarized themselves and are voluntarily secluded as they've reached the limit of their comfort zone and have not journeyed to other groups to build their following, you will be different. As you serve on these committees you will use the influence of these currently micro leaders to immediately gain committed followers on multiple fronts. You'll build your following based off of the leaders you bring in who have the following and you won't waste your time with going after the actual individual follower. So to be clear you will be at the top of the food-chain by creating a new position above the current leadership and you'll be the one with the ultimate power by having the ability to engage multiple groups simultaneously. You'll be asked by other, less evolved leaders beneath you for introductions to other entity members and leaders. You're objective here is to make introductions that outwardly seem free and open while you remain in control of the communication between individuals so you don't find a rival situation on your hands.

Application of this concept would go something like this: join the chamber of commerce, buy a members guide, go to the section that lists the groups and the group leaders, this is where your infiltration will be initiated. Research each leader with a basic Google search, know their likes and dislikes, hobbies and everything about their company and their immediate competition before you even visit the first meeting. Take your time with this as you will never get a second chance to make that first impression. After you've don't your research and feel ready, make sure that your body language speaks volumes by demonstrating confidence and by all means make your knowledge seem passive and off the cuff. Don't be a close talker, don't be a know it all and don't seem overly aggressive as if you have an agenda. If the current leadership feels threatened in any way you're done, it's over. You'll never get a chance to break in and word will spread like wildfire.

Each inside group has an applicable version of the 'good old boy club' identify the characteristics of these individuals when you are in the group, apply the knowledge you've absorbed in research, throw out some helpful ideas and ease in like an old man in a hot warm bath.

Once you've conquered one group, step into the next and the next and soon you'll run into others at the same level as you and from their you'll pick a leader that you can control and use your circle of influence to get your agenda out their based off of the exceptional pedigree of the individual demonstrating a willingness to be controlled in order to feel and put up the illusion that he is the one in control.

There's a lot to swallow here but read this a few times and let it sink in and by that time we'll have the second article out to take you from here to the next strategy to claim your position at the top.

Some historians have asserted that Christopher Columbus never physically visited America, and certainly did not discover America. Most historical material indicates that it was in 1492 that Columbus discovered America while traversing North America.

The history of Indian Americans dates back in 1902. They are of diverse backgrounds with stratified social classes from lowly educated to highly educated, rich and the poor.

Sikhs, or Punjab, represent a group of early Indian inhabitants of America. This group left India on a quest for employment and prosperity.

Though Indian Americans have Indian origin, there population in America has increased tremendously. From 200 in 1902, to more than 2.15 million to date.

The economic circumstances of Indian Americans have become vastly diverse, with many from this group serving as business owners and organizational leaders of enterprises of all types.

In 2005, Charles Mann argued in his book "New Revelations of the America Before Columbus" that many Indians had already found their way to the western continents well before Columbus ever set sail, thanks to a highly developed culture and advanced understanding of the world.

While their history may often be overlooked, the origins of Indian Americans are very diverse. This group hailed from locations such as Kenya, Tanzania, Fiji, Uganda, Jamaica, Canada, the United Kingdom, Guyana and Malaysia, which are all regions in which their populations remain on the rise.

The largest concentration of Indian Americans resides in the United States. These individuals take religion very seriously, played a large role in the history of America, and were present during its discovery.

On the subject of Columbus discovering America some people believe that he didn't and a man called Amerigo Vespucci, who was born on April 9, 1453. He was an Italian by birth and later studied the world maps deeply to become an explorer.

There are many stories about who discovered America and there are few facts. All we know for sure is that America is a young country compared to others but it's short history is an interesting one.

Global Economic Strategies: The Fear And Chaos Formula Of Power

Economics and Politics eventually converge and entwine into one unique process of strategy called 'Globalization'. And in the world of globalization there are the tacticians and the strategists just as in a corporation there is the board of directors and the 'C' level executives or in Politics there is the lobbyist and their puppet politician. Both political and corporate spectrums have their controllers and their talking heads and an agenda that is assimilated from the top to the bottom but the 'top' to the public is actually the bottom and the invisible are always in control. Let me explain.

The talking heads are little more than a distribution mechanism for the strategists behind them that have placed them in a position. The talking head is a willing participant, whether they are a congressman or CEO, these individuals possess one universal theme, they have limited ego and are willing to give up their personal schema in order to convince the public of their position. Behind them is an organization whether it be a board, lobbyist or special interest group that feeds them a daily script and/or voting schedule and the process is simple, the puppet keeps their position as long as they are willing to place personal ideas and convictions aside and regurgitate the information and ideologies of those who have placed them in this position.

An interesting note here is that I've consulted with some organizational front men who were completely unaware of the fact that their promotion to this particular position was engineered whether they are a CEO or a politician. Chaos is a strategy that always works, all you need are the right people with the most influential pedigrees to convince the character that right is left and up is down. The glove-puppet is classically the easiest to maneuver and will believe whatever he's told as long as his handlers paint the picture that he is the one with the power to distribute.

One aspect that people don't realize is that these organizations are characteristically a pyramid association and inter-reliant and at times the pieces work independent of the other and never actually converse in person but via indirect communication. These indirect communiqus are typically set up like an Olympic relay race where one party hands off a message or agenda and from one person to the next, each putting the necessary spin on the information so that by the time the concept is delivered to the 'face' to the union whether they be a political or corporate the message has all the necessary elements and support needed to complete the objective whether it be a vote in congress or a corporate strategy passed down by current or future 'agenda' based shareholders, through the rabbit tunnel and to the lips of the CEO.

Often times the concepts of chaos seen in the media for both of these stages is manufactured and not the actual reality but the potential reality as a market/vote support test to see the reaction before the action is facilitated. Whether the outcome is good or bad is all relative to the strategy of those controlling the agenda.

The individual identified by the public as the figurehead or decision maker, in most cases is anything but. Think George Bush Jr., and do some investigating and you'll find that he was, for the most part the brunt of jokes and considered a goofball by everyone within his family's social circle, university, business and even political but he was willing to place personal conviction aside to be the talking head for multiple conservative special interest groups, lobbyists and even religious organizations on the right.

Whether you consider this ethical or not it's the way it's always been done in large structured organizations of commerce and legislative. You have to admit, it's easier to have one sacrificial lamb than a dozen and the puppet masters can simply change out the individual delivering the message if his/her reputation catches up with them and dilutes the message.

The pyramid of power comes to a point at the top and the bottom as those actually in control are at the top, they distribute their message through the belly and at the bottom where the organization comes to a point again, and this is where the public believes the apex of power initiates. There is indeed order and power in chaos.

The issue of American consumerism is being brought up more and more these days in light of the current financial crisis that the US is having.

But what is consumerism? Many people aren't even really sure what consumerism really is. Consumerism can be defined in two ways. In economic terms, consumerism is the practice of people buying goods beyond the things that they need to survive.

For example, someone that buys wine to drink but has water or milk at home is engaging in consumerism because he or she doesn't need the wine to drink but is buying just because he or she wants it and has the disposable income to purchase it.

Consumerism can also be defined as the practice of equating self worth and societal status with the purchase of goods and services.

What is consumerism in one country might not be the same as what is considered consumerism in another country based on the scarcity or abundance of resources in that particular country.

US culture is almost 100% consumerist because many Americans engage in consumerism either by purchasing things that they don't need to survive or by finding their own self worth or judging others by what they purchase and how much they consume.

It's the job of corporations and businesses to sell their products to consumers by any means necessary, which usually means advertising. Advertising creates the idea that a person's worth or happiness is determined by what they own and how much they own.

The best example to illustrate this mode of thinking is the sale of lipsticks. Studies have shown that the worse off people are financially the higher the sales of lipsticks are.

Why? Because women who are feeling bad about their economic situations and feeling their self worth take a dive when they lack the purchasing power to purchase bigger items will spend anywhere from $10 to $30 on a lipstick as a way to cheer themselves up.

Shopping has been promoted as a cure for women's depression for years because in US culture an individual's self worth, male or female, is tied to the possessions that they own.

When that advertising created myth becomes the reality of a culture, the way it has in the US, economic disaster is sure to follow.

No economic system can survive when people purchase items that they can't afford using credit and not worrying about they are going to pay for those purchases.

In the US consumers aren't taught to spend their money responsibly, they are actually encouraged to live way beyond their means.

Unfortunately, many people do just that because they don't know how to handle their money.

Predatory businesses that prey on unwary customers who are desperate to buy a little self-esteem or a little more social status are partly to blame for the economic downfall of the US but the consumers bears some of the responsibility, too.

It's a consumer's duty to be aware of his or her own financial situation and to not give in to the persuasive attempts of businesses to convince them to buy more stuff.

It can be tough to resist slick ads created by ad companies that are trained in the art of manipulation and psychological warfare but people need to realize that they are more than just consumers if they are going to find a way to survive the current economic crisis without falling into complete financial disaster as a result.

Leaders have to be resourceful, often acting without the established courses of action available to those they lead. They must treat their charges well, not abusing their power but also maintaining order and efficiency. This can be very taxing, since there is no one to tell the leader what decision to make or what path to choose; he or she trust trust their own judgment.

Having an unshakable core to support whatever decision they have to make is important for those in the leadership role. Many choices can be tough, and without a steadfast center, leaders would never be able to make peace with a potentially dangerous decision; every time they chose wrong, the guilt would be unbearable.

A leader must never be anything less than his best before his followers. Subordinates cannot see their leader falter or show uncertainty. When such faults are put on display, it is hard for leaders to sustain their followers' faith in them. To avoid this, a good leader always save his moments of weakness for his confidants and puts on the brave face at all other times. He must think quickly and always be sure of his actions. Even when he isn't.

A leader must be willing to do whatever is in the best interest of his people. This often involves making decisions that others might view as wrong or questionable; decisions like this can make or break a man. A true leader can always find solace in the fact that he did what was best and at least tried to do the right thing.

A leader should be open to input from all sides, and should judge all input equally, regardless of source. Listening is a powerful skill, and can make a leader all the better. Leaders have to be able to make their own decisions, but that doesn't mean they can't listen to other people's opinions.

And, last but not least, a leader needs backbone. They have to be able to stand up for what they believe in, even when facing enormous opposition. Without this quality, one cannot be a leader.

A lot goes into the pot when cooking up a good leader. There is no perfect recipe, and it varies from person to person, but one thing can be certain. Leadership is about shouldering responsibility and making the best out of what you have. Do that, and you can't go wrong.

What is depleted uranium? Depleted uranium is a waste byproduct from producing fuel for nuclear reactors and atomic bombs. The material used in civil and nuclear military industry is uranium U-235.

Since this isotope is found in very low proportions in nature, the uranium ore has to be enriched, i.e., its proportion of the U-235 isotope has to be industrially increased.

This process produces a large amount of radioactive depleted uranium waste, thus named because it is mainly formed by the other non-fissionable uranium isotope, U-238 and a minimum proportion of U-235.

American military industry has been using depleted uranium to coat conventional weaponry (artillery, tanks and aircraft) since 1977, to protect its own tanks, as a counterweight in aircraft and Tomahawk missiles and as a component for navigation instruments.

This is because of depleted uranium having characteristics making it highly attractive for military technology: firstly, it is extremely dense and heavy (1 cm3 weighs almost 19 grams), such that projectiles with a depleted uranium head can penetrate the armored steel of military vehicles and buildings.

The weapon has another characteristic as well; it is a spontaneous pyrophoric material, i.e., it inflames when reaching its target generating such heat that it explodes. After more than 50 years producing atomic weapons and nuclear energy, the USA has 500,000 tons of depleted uranium stored, according to official data.

Depleted uranium is radioactive and has an average lifetime of 4.5 billion years. This is why such waste has to be stored safely for an indefinite period of time, an extremely costly procedure.

In order to save money and empty their tanks, the Department of Defense and Energy assigns depleted uranium free of charge to national and foreign armament companies. When a projectile hits a target, 70% of its depleted uranium burns and oxidizes, bursting into highly toxic, radioactive micro particles.

A 1995 technical report issued by the Army indicates that "if depleted uranium enters the body, it has the potentiality of causing serious medical consequences. The associated risk is both chemical and radiological."

Deposited in the lungs or kidneys, uranium 238 and products from its decay (thorium 234, protactinium and other uranium isotopes) give off alpha and beta radiations which cause cell death and genetic mutations causing cancer in exposed individuals and genetic abnormalities in their descendants over the years.

You see the term "depleted" refers to the removal of uranium-235, but the process for its removal is called "enrichment." It is enrichment because what remains is uranium-238, a highly potent radioactive carcinogen that emits alpha particles.

Uranium-236 and Uranium-238 (otherwise known as plutonium) is laced into the so-called "depleted" uranium weaponry. So let us be real. Stop saying "depleted" uranium, and call it what it is, "enriched" uranium.

Enriched uranium weaponry is illegal under the terms and conditions of the Geneva Convention. Under the Geneva Convention, it is illegal to leave harmful materials on a battlefield after the conflict has ceased.

This nuclear war is in violation of the Geneva Convention. It causes congenital malformations, babies born with one eye, no arms, or no brain. And it not only affects Iraqi civilians, it affects American veterans who excrete it in their urine and semen a decade later.

I think most everyone would agree that the so-called economic recovery in the US has definitely slowed to a crawl.

Our economy has been slowly growing for about a year now, but has produced few, if any new jobs to show for it. And now that the government is reporting a weak growth rate of less than three percent in the second quarter and federal stimulus funds are drying up, our job outlook appears even more bleak.

Economic growth has fallen drastically during the latest quarter, according to a report released by the Commerce Department. Not surprisingly, consumer spending was weaker than initially indicated earlier in the recovery.

Many economists predict further slowdowns through the second half of 2010, possibly even as low as 1.5 percent annually. That is largely because businesses have refilled the stockrooms that were emptied during the early days of the financial crisis, and there will not be much need for additional orders for some time to come.

The fiscal stimulus programs that have artificially propped up growth are running out. That's good news for people who believe in an economy based on sound financial principals rather than redistribution of wealth. State Representative Rachel Burgin said "It is business, not government, that creates jobs."

Government spending has shot up more than most could have imagined, at an annual rate of 4.4 percent. Adding insult to injury, salary for public sector jobs has risen to nearly twice that of comparable jobs in the private sector while the unemployment rate hovers at just under 10%. A far cry from the promises of Obama that it would never go above 8%.

For the time being, American businesses, and to a lesser degree, American households, seem to be hanging on. But a report released by the University of Michigan and Thomson Reuters showed that consumer confidence tumbled in July.

The approaching midterm elections could have a dramatic impact on both our economic and our employment circumstances. Voters are becoming far more vocal and active then we've seen in years, pushing hard for a back to basics approach. They're tired of seeing their tax dollars and the futures of their children and grandchildren squandered by politicians trying to buy votes.

So what can be done to fix the problems we're facing? Unfortunately, there is no quick and easy answer, but we can start by electing politicians who understand how important it is to support small businesses, which employ nearly 6o million Americans.
